Nutrition labelling

RSS Barcodes (Reduced Space Symbology) pictured above for fruits and vegetables. An incresingly popular type of label at major supermarkets. RSS Barccode also known as GS1 DataBar are used for grocery stores to speed up product identification. By not having a cashier manually enter a PLU this system eliminates errors in product identification while at the same time speeding up the whole checkout process. Loblaw was one of the first Canadian grocers to use this system. Wal-Mart is also beginning to use these barcodes.
